MAY MEETING – LINDA SHARPE

Another great meeting!  A few notes from Ellen

  • We learned that colour has many variables.
  • Linda suggested that one useful way to think of colours is to group them as having stimulating or calming characteristics.  Clear bright colours are happy, festive and stimulating while secondary or tertiary  mixes present a calm, peaceful feeling.
  • Linda stressed the importance of viewing, sorting, and choosing colours where the final product will be used because colour looks different under different light.
  • After Linda’s  colour overview presentation, we created a small fabric art card using either a calming or stimulating colour scheme.

Linda was interesting and stretched our thinking on colour.  Visit Linda’s website at Rock, Paper, Stitches
